Recent amendments by the government in the Land Reform Act, the APMC Act, and the Labor Act fueled some kind of quandary among the farmers which led them to protest Karnataka Bandh against the proposed amendments in Belagavi.

Following this, an incident happened at the central bus stop of the Belagavi where the leader of protesting farmers named Chunnappa Poojary fell into the feet of Belagavi Divisional Controller of Transport, Mr. Mahadevappa Munji, for the request to stop the buses for the sake of ongoing farmers protest.

Farmers were demanding to stop the buses because these transport buses were launched with the police escort, to prevent the public from taking the matter otherwise related to the amendments by the government in the Land Reform Act, the APMC Act, and the Labor Act.

Karnataka Bandh is massively being supported by the public and the farmers of the Karnataka and Belagavi against the government’s decision on the Land Reform Act, the APMC Act, and the Labor Laws Amendment.

The farmers, Dalits, workers, and various Kannada organizations were given to Band in the name of the struggle committee, and all the organizations participated in this Karnataka Bandh protest and made it a successful protest.

Following the protest, the shutters of the stores in the market were down, private buses were not moving on the roads, auto drivers were not allowed to give a ride and were stopped by the protesters, fully operational market of street vendors, vegetables were halted and very few of them were doing the business.
