Belagavi: The construction work of the new building of Belagavi police commissioner’s office will be started soon, said Director general of police Pravin Sood. He visited and observed the land identified for the new building in Belagavi city on Tuesday.
It’s been six years since the establishment of the police commissioner office in Belagavi but it has not got its own building since then. The office was running in the old building of the Superintendent of Police office premises. The land for the police commissioner office was identified in different places in Belagavi city. The funds were also sanctioned from the government for the construction of new buildings. Later, the land was also finalised for the building at the city police line behind RLS College on College Road when BS Lokesh Kumar was the commissioner of Belagavi.
On Tuesday, Director of General Police Pravin Sood visited and observed the land in city police line. Inspector of General Police, Northern Range Raghavendra Suhas, Police Commissioner Dr K Tyagrajan, Deputy Commissioner of Police(Law and Order) Dr Vikram Amate, Deputy Commissioner of Police(Crime and Traffic) CR Neelgar, and other senior officers accompanied him. Sood expressed satisfaction over the identified land and said that the ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ will be performed soon to start the work he said.
