*DCM Savadi announced election held unopposed as per party instruction *
Belagavi: The elections for the chairman and vice chairman posts of the Belagavi DCC bank completed with a happy ending. Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi announced the elections held unopposed by continuing the current chairman, former MP Ramesh Katti and vice chairman Subhash Dhavaleshwar for the respective posts for one more term.
All the top BJP leaders of the Belagavi district were conducting rounds of meetings to convince all the groups of the directors to make the elections unopposed from the past couple of days. On Saturday, they conducted the last round of meetings and collected every director’s opinion before the announcement election unopposed.
Speaking at the joint press conference here in Belagavi on Saturday, Deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi said ‘The party leadership had opinion that the elections should not be held and the candidates should be elected unopposed during this term when this prestigious bank of Belagavi is in centenary celebration year. Therefore it has been decided unanimously to continue the existing chairman, former MP Ramesh Katti and vice chairman Subhash Dhavaleshwar for another term he said.
