Cristian community conduct silent rally demanding release of social worker father swamy

Belagavi: People in large number from Christian community from Belagavi and its outskirts took out a silent March by tieing black cloth to the mouth on Tuesday morning demanding release of social worker father Saturn Swamy from Jharkhand who has been arrested on the basis of fake allegations. They later submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner MG Hiremath.
The Christians took out the silent rally from Rani Channamma circle to DC office to condemn the National Investigating Agency(NIA) for arresting father swamy for fake, baseless allegations. Later a memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner in the presence of father Simon Fernandez and other Cristian community leaders.
The NIA has made fake, baseless allegations and held senior social worker and human rights conservator Father Saturn Swamy guilty. They have linked him for having connections to the banned maoists organizations. Native of Trichi, Tamil Nadu, father Swamy is struggling from past five decades for the rights and powers of the Adiwasi people of Jharkhand. He had raised voice against the police department for resorting injustice, harassment of the weaker section of social, the adiwasi people.

A 30-bedded maternity hospital under Smart city project opened in public service

Belagavi: The 30-beded Smart hospital that has been constructed under Centre’s ambitious Smart city project at Vantmuri Colony in Srinagar Belagavi opened in service of the people on Tuesday. Belagavi North MLA Anil Benake inaugurated the hospital on Tuesday.
The 30 bedded Smart hospital in Vantmuri Colony primarily health centre(PHC) has been developed in the cost of Rs 2.75 crore. It will have maternity facility, operation theater, Intensive care unit for new born babies, other all required medical facilities for the mother and babies treatment.
The previous PHC centre has been developed into the smart hospital exclusively for the maternity and newborn care. It has been done understanding the requirement of maternity hospital. The maternity ward in civil hospital facing shortage of beds for mothers. Therefore this additional facility has been developed here said MLA Anil Benake.
Managing director of Belagavi smart city Ltd. Shashidhar Kurer, Corporation Commissioner Jagadish KH, District health and family welfare officer Dr HV Munyal and local residents were present.
