The eleven members committee to shortlist Congress candidate for Belagavi bypoll

Belagavi: The eleven members committee formed by KPCC will select a candidate for the Belagavi parliamentary bypoll said Belagavi rural district Congress president Vinay Navalagatti.
On Thursday, Vinay Navalgatti in Belagavi said ‘KPCC has appointed 11 members committee to select the Congress candidate for Belagavi parliamentary bypoll. MLA MB Patil will be chairing the committee. KPCC working president Satish Jarkiholi, Congress senior leaders HM Revanna, Hanumantayya, Nagaraj Chebbi, Sriniwas Mane, GS Patil are in the committee. They will be conducting a meeting on November 21 at Congress Bhavan in Belagavi to collect the opinions of Congress MLA’s, elected representatives and party workers and will then submit a report to the KPCC to confirm Congress candidate’ he said.

Haveri-man on 650 km expedition to conserve Kannada language

Belagavi: Native of Haveri is on a walking journey for 650 kilometers for the conservation of the Kannada language, land and people in Karnataka. Manjunath Tippanna Bhadrashetti, from Mugali village of Haveri district has started his walking journey from Kanchanapalli village of Andhra up to boundary of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
His unique costume of yellow-red color shirt and pant and round shape name boards having breathlines about the ‘rich history-importance of Kannada language’ attached to his back was grabbing attention of people in the city. He was given a warm welcome by the Kannada activists in Belagavi on Thursday.
President of Kannada organisations action committee Ashok Chandaragi, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike(KRV) president Deepak Gudaganatti and others Kannada activists welcomed Manjunath and felicitated him at Rani Channamma circle in Belagavi for his different, unique yet important initiative taken to conserve the rich, ancient Kannada language in its own land.
