Belagavi: ‘I am resigning from Congress party and Zilla Panchayat post from Sambra announced Zilla Panchayat member, BDCC bank director Krishna Angolkar. Angolkar was recently elected to the director post of BDCC bank. He said that he is quitting Congress and will campaign in favor of BJP candidates in Belagavi bypolls.
Angolkar on Sunday said that not just he alone, several Congress leaders including Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat members will be quitting Congress and will be joining BJP party shortly. I will be joining the BJP party ahead of the Belagavi parliamentary Bypolls and will work to make BJP candidate win in the byelections’ he said.
He further said that he has not yet discussed with any BJP leaders over joining the party. ‘I have got the support of District In charge minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and will talk with him after submitting my resignation to the Congress party. I felt it is important to join BJP to work in favour of the weavers, weavers organisations, and get the facilities for them from state and central government. There is no pressure on me but resigning from Congress with my own interest’ he said.
