Belagavi: A farmer who went to his farm to guard the harvested paddy has been murdered while he was in sleep at Kakkeri village in Khanapur taluk.
The murdered farmer is identified as Bishtappa Kanaskoppa(43) resident of Kakkeri village. According to the police, the farmer had harvested the paddy field and had kept the rice grains in the field. He had went to the farm to guard the grains. When he was asleep, the unknown killer has hit an axe into his head multiple times. After bleeding heavily farmer died. When the wife of farmer came to farm, he found her husband dead.
On getting information, policemen from Khanapur police station rushed the spot and have started investigation. The reasons for the murder is not known.
