ENS @ Belagavi: Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the government is considering launching a special international standard training centre like-NDA for police officers soon in Belagavi.
He was speaking at the Karnataka State Reserve Police(KSRP) 6th team of Special Reserve Police Constable’s passing out parade on Tuesday at the KSRP Training School premises in the city. He said that he will discuss and get a green signal for the international standard training centre in Belagavi soon. ‘I would like to say that the disciplinary training that was given last year has worked well and has given the most capable and efficient policemen for the state. Staff at the Karnataka Police Department are being trained to effectively deal with the challenges. The KSRP squadron has the highest level of assistance and cooperation from the state government. After our government came on power, 16,000 police personnel are being recruited’ he added.
Our government facilitates and assists KSRP personnel from all directions. KSRP personnel not just serve only on special occasions but also perform any duties assigned. He appealed to the recruits to adopt the new science and paradigm to deal with cybercrime.
The government is considering training the KSRP team from overseas experts. We have prepared to bring the experts from abroad to provide advance training, he said. Belagavi has very special police forces like KSRP, ITBP, Cobra commando training, Airforce. There is a need for quality training for the police officers. Therefore the international training centre will be set up here by using the scope and viability available here. MLA Anil Benake, KSRP ADGP Alok kumar, IGP Raghavendra Suhas, City Police Commissioner Dr K Thyagarajan, SP Lakshman Nimbaragi, DCP Chandrashekhar Nilagar and KSRP Commandant Hamza Hussain were were present.
