Belagavi: Farmers, led by various farmers’ organizations, staged protests in front of the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha(SVS) in Belagavi on Thursday, condemning the anti-farmers policies of the central and state governments.
Hundreds of people protested at SVS in support to the agitation of farmers at Delhi and Bangalore condemning the anti agrarian policy of the central and state government. They shouted slogans against the central and state government.
Governments should not play with farmers life. They said the fight would continue until the withdrawal of three agricultural laws that were fatal to farmers. We have lost a house in a flood. The crops are destroyed and farmers are getting nothing from agriculture. The government has ignored the farmers alleged the farmers and demanded immediate relief.
Police officials had put barricades at the get of the SVS as there was section 144 was imposed. Tight police security has been arranged around the SVS. Farmers protested on the road. Police security has been increased in the surrounding area of ​​the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha as the farmers from various districts of the state have warned of staging a protest at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.
Suvarna Vidhana Soudha is situated near the Halaga village of Balagavi taluk. Hundreds of police personnel have been deployed. The Police Commissioner has issued prohibitory orders 500 meters surrounding the SVS. There were more than a hundred policemen, including two ACP, five CPI, eight PSI and 16 ASI deputed at the SVS. Three CAR troops are also deputed at the place.
