Belagavi: Transport workers, who were continued their strike for the third day at Belagavi central bus stand, protested with family members, including children, carrying brick on their heads on Sunday. They shouted slogans against the state government demanding justice.
The KSRTC workers have launched a strike demanding the fulfilment of their various demands, including that employees should be treated as government employees. There is a lot of troubles created for the general public due to no public transport facility. Passengers were seen waiting for the vehicles get started to leave them at their places. But the transportation employees are not ready to withdraw their protest yet. Transport workers were seen protesting with family members, including children. They grabbed the attention by removing their shirts and keeping bricks on their heads. They shouted slogans against the government demanding justice.
The employees said that these minister’s and MLA’s in the government takes Lakhs of salary by just sitting in the assembly twice in a year. Government is paying Rs 20,000 per month just for mobile recharge of these ministers. But it is feeling loss and load to pay Rs 20,000 salary to the KSRTC workers who work 30 days of month risking their life alleged the drivers and warned they will not withdraw their protest until the government will meet their demands.
The private bus and auto service was started under police protection at the Fort road in Belagavi. However, the private vehicles were seen charging more fares from the travellers.
