Belagavi: Belagavi District Commissioner MG Hiremath, Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbaragi, and City Police Commissioner Dr Tyagarajan conducted a meeting with the leaders of the transport workers association, farmer organisations and successfully convinced them to withdraw their protest.
The district authority is with the transport workers and always will respond to their grievances. Therefore, every employee joins and reports to the duty he requested them. A women transport expressed her feelings before DC that how the senior officers harass them, put fine and gives mental torture to workers. Whatever the issue, it should be brought to my attention. We are committed to the betterment of the transport employees promised DC.
The representatives of the transport workers agreed to the request of DC. The transport workers agreed and assured to attend to the duties. The late-night meeting conducted by the DC yielded success.

The buses were started under police protection from Monday. The buses on Ramdurg, Athani, Chikkodi, Hubballi, Gokak and other routes were started. Only passengers were allowed inside the Central bus stand. In the meeting conducted by Transport minister Laxman Savadi, Chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, Revenue minister R Ashok, eight demands of the transport employees have been agreed to fulfil.
