Belagavi: I do not knwo to lie, I will form seperate Gokak district in next six months said District In charge minsiter Ramesh Jarkiholi.
District Incharge minsiter, who is also water resource minister of Karnataka, Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi promised of doing Gokak district when leaders led by Murugharajendra Swami of Shoonya Sampadana Mutt, Gokak met him and submitted a memorandum at his residence on Monday.
The decision to form Gokak and Chikkodi as seperate district’s was made long ago when Siddaramaiah was the chief minister of Karnataka. However, it not came into reaility that time as the leaders of Bailhongal also demanded district status for Bailhongal. We are first forming seperate taluks and then will take necessary measures to form Gokak district. Thus, this process of dividing Belagavi into three districts has been delayed’ he said.
‘The formation of more taluks is yet to be done and once it happened, the districts will be formed. All this process has delayed due to the COVID19 situation and the financial conditions in the state. I don’t know to lie, I will definitely do what I have promised’ said minister Ramesh Jarkiholi.
He further said that ‘Everyone knows the reason behind dividing Ballari district. Let’s carry a delegation to chief minister after the budget session and let form the Gokak seperate district in next six months’ said Ramesh Jarkiholi.
