Belagavi: The inclusion of North Karnataka’s powerful leader, Hukkari BJP MLA Umesh Katti in the state cabinet has given another ministry to the border district of Belagavi. With this, Now Belagavi has a total of five ministers.

Umesh Katti and six other MLA’s have taken oath as a minister’s in the oath-taking ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Now Belagavi has got a total of five cabinet berths which is highest in the state after Bengaluru.

Deputy Chief Minister, transport minister Lakshman Sawadi, Water Resources Minister, District In-charge Ramesh Jarkiholi, textile minister Sreemanth Patil, Women and Child Welfare Minister Shashikala Jolle are existing ministers and now Umesh Katti has been added in the list. It is said that he will be given the tourism ministry.

When the Yeddyurappa government came into powers, the Katti had to be added to the cabinet as he was BSY’s staunch follower and senior-most member of the assembly. However, the High Command did not show interest to give a ministry to him. This caused Katti to disperse in a rage against the party. An eight-time MLA Katti was also in news recently for his controversial statements of separating North Karnataka.

*Three times MLA Abhay Patil express disappointment *
Three times BJP MLA from Belagavi North constituency Abhay Patil has expressed disappointment for not considering him in the cabinet. There is no value for the party loyalist in the present days. Today’s cabinet expansion is the best example for it’ he said in his Twitter handle.
