Deputy Commissioner MG Hiremath launched the vaccination drive by applause
Belagavi: The country’s much-anticipated COVISHIELD vaccine has been launched in the Belagavi district on Saturday.
The vaccination to the selected medical staff at thirteen places of the Belgaum Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) and KLE hospital as per the government guidelines is being given from Saturday.
The vaccination program against COVID19 initiated at the Athani Taluk Hospital in Athani has been reviewed by Deputy Commissioner MG Hiremath. He expressed happiness and applauded while the health staff vaccinated the COVISHIELD medicine to the health workers at the Athani Taluk hospital. He instructed Health Department staff to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Department of Health regarding vaccination.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Darshan HV, Health Department officials and other officers were present on this occasion.
The selected health workers of BIMS, KLE hospital are already being vaccinated at identified government hospitals at Athani, Bailhongal, Chikkodi, Gokak, Hukkeri, Khanapur, Raibag, Ramadurg, Savadatti, Konnur, (Taluk-Gokak), Vantamuri village, (Taluk-Belagavi).
RCH officer Dr PI Gadad said that hundreds of health workers are being vaccinated every day, including doctors, medical staff, nurses, Asha and Anganwadi workers at each of the thirteen hospitals.
