IAF trainees successfully complete basic phase at ATS in Belagavi

Belagavi: A batch 3624 trainee airmen of Indian Air Force completed their basic training at Air Force Station Sambra, in Belagavi on January 16.

Airmen Training School Belagavi is one of the premier training centres of Indian Air Force. All ab-initio airmen trainees undergo rigorous basic phase training at Basic Training Institute and evolve as air warriors on completion of the training. During the twenty-four weeks of training, they are imparted with general service training to help them develop an all-round personality in the finest traditions of IAF.

Air Vice-Marshal Vivek Pillai, Command Technical Training Officer of the Bangalore based HQ Training Command was the chief guest for the occasion. The chief guest reviewed the parade and presented trophies to the meritorious trainees. Among the prize winners, AC (IJ/T) Gagan Sisodia was adjudged as the best in general service training, AC (I-JIT) Amit Singh Bhadauriya as best in academics.

AC (IJ/T) Virendra Choudhary as the best marksman and AC (U/T) Vineet Kumar was adjudged as “overall first in order of merit”.

While addressing the parade, the reviewing officer emphasized the importance of precautions to be adhered to fight against COVID-19. He reiterated that they must continue to be careful about their hygiene and social distancing in their trade training phase also. He stressed that learning is a continuous process and one should keep abreast with the fast-paced technological environment, which is shaping our Air Force regularly. He emphasised on the need to develop professional skills by maintaining a steep learning curve during different stages of training.
