The post graduate department of studies and research in commerce has organized a day workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ at Kuvempu Sabhangana of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi on January 22 Friday.

Prof M Ramachandra Gowda, Honourable Vice Chancellor inaugurated the programme and in his inaugural address he said that the research status at present is lagging everywhere, the internet usage scholars and students are not getting in-depth knowledge, so it needs to be concentrated and more emphasis should be given for research. A good research will get good ranking to the university.

The University has made many provisions to scholars and students to undertake research. Every teacher in the University should engage himself in Research activities which will resolve many issues of the society, industry and commerce. The post graduate students should start finding the problems and engage themselves in research.

Professor SB Akash, Dean, School of Business gave introductory speech and said, the development of the country depends on the quality of Research carried out. The Key note speaker Professor RR Kulkarni appreciated the efforts of Commerce Department for organizing such workshop and making the department more vibrant.

He emphasized on quality research, which is very important for the development of Universities. Professor BS Navi, Chairman , Department of Commerce in his presidential remarks highlighted the status of research in our country as compared to the other countries. Hence research carried out should be of good quality, which results in sharpening the knowledge and skills of all the participants.
Organising secretary Ashwini Jamuni formally welcomed the gathering and Sachindra GR introduced the guests. The senior professor of the department Professor HY Kamble, Yasmin Nadaf and faculties of Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College PG department of Commerce were present.

Naziya Patvegar proposed the vote of thanks. Mahadevi Halijol compeered the programme. Anuapana presented the invocation song. PhD research scholars and students of M. Com participated in the workshop. The delegates and the students opined that the program will be of great use in their future endeavour.

The one day workshop was scheduled with two sessions. The first technical session was on Research, formulation of hypothesis and testing by Prof. R. R. Kulkarni Director, KIMS, KUD Dharwad. The second session headed by Prof. B. S. Navi & Project report writing.
