Indigo commences flight to ChennaiChennai sector

Belagavi: Indigo started its new route to Chennai at Belagavi Airport in the Chennai-Belagavi-Chennai sector. A small event was organized by Indigo in close coordination with Belagavi Airport, AAI to commemorate its commissioning of Chennai sector from Belagavi Airport.

The event started with the cutting of ribbon and lighting of the sacred candle (Diya) by Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Airport Director: Belagavi Airport, Rajesh Vijayakumar: ATM (Incharge), PS Desai: AGM (CNS), BG Reddy: Terminal Manager, Irappa Wali: APSU-Security Head: KSISF, Sh. Nagesh. K, Station Manager: M/s. Indigo, Station Manager of all Airlines and other stakeholders.

It was followed by cake cutting by Airport Director, Belagavi Airport and First passenger of Chennai flight. Airport Director, Belagavi Airport congratulated to Station Manager M/s. Indigo and their entire team for commencing the Chennai sector. Airport Director, Belagavi Airport and Security Head, KSISF handed over the boarding passes to the first passenger.

It is 11th city connection from Belagavi Airport and 3rd city connection by M/s. Indigo Airlines. Now, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Kadapa, Tirupati, Surat, Ahmedabad, Indore, Mumbai, Pune & Chennai by five Airlines i.e. M/s. Indigo, Alliance Air, Star Air, Spicejet & Trujet.

Cultural programme & dance, greeting with folded hands in traditional dress to all departure passengers and arrival passengers performed by the students of PeopleTree Institute of Hotel & Event Management, Belagavi to celebrate the start of Chennai sector. The representative of M/s. Indigo thanked Airport Director, Belagavi Airport and the entire team at Belagavi Airport.

The water salute has been given to the Aircraft of M/s. Indigo on its first arrival at bay no. 2 by AAI Fire personnel. The flight 6E-7131/7132 arrived from Chennai and departed to Chennai. The scheduled arrival is 1025 Hrs and departure is 1055 Hrs. This sector will be operated thrice in a week i.e. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Total incoming passengers were 29 and outgoing passenger were 31 out of 78 seater aircraft. The load will be improved in the coming days. Direct flight to Chennai from Belagavi from January 21

Belagavi: The low-cost passenger carrier IndiGo has come forward to launch the much-awaited flight between Belagavi and Chennai city from January 21. The Belagavi airport has announced of launching this new route through its official tweeter handle. The tweet says that IndiGo has announced direct Chennai flight for which booking has started already on the official website of Indigo airlines.

This flight be operational three days a wee that is on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The flight will depart from Belagavi at 10.55 and will reach Chennai at 1.15 pm. The same flight will depart from Chennai at 8.10 am and will reach Belagavi airport at 10.25 am. The flight schedule will remain the same for all three days a week. The flight will take two hours fifteen minutes to reach the destination.

The year 2021 has brought a lot of good news to Belagavi airport as it is getting connected to more new cities right from the first month. After tremendous growth reported despite COVID situations last year, Belagavi airport is all set to operate a direct flight to Chennai from January 21.

This route was long pending demand of the air travellers of Belagavi and has expressed happiness on social networks after announcing the route. Many people from Chennai are employed in Belagavi and people of Belagavi are employed in IT and another industrial sector in Chennai. Besides helping them, this flight will encourage tourism and trades between these two cities. Many people visit Chennai from Belagavi to get done Visa and also to travel abroad.

With this new route, Belagavi will have direct flight routes to 12 cities of India. The existing routes are Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Indore, Pune, Mysuru, Tirupati, Cuddappah, Surat, Ahmadabad and Mumbai. Nashik will be connecting from January 25.
