Rani Chennamma university also referred to as RCU is a public university in Belagavi, it is named after the famous queen Kittur Rani Chennamma. Initially, it was Kittur Rani Channamma Post Graduate Centre which was in the undertaking of Karnatak University but was upgraded to RCU in 2010.
Why Kittur Rani chennamma is so famous?
RCU is located at the distance of 18km from Belagavi on the Pune-Bangalore national highway 4. The university compound is in 172 acres, the main goal of RCU is to provide quality education to the students of North Karnataka.
The University provides good facilities like broadband internet connectivity, 24/7 electricity supply, computer labs, library, canteen, boy’s hostel, and infrastructure for the student’s all-round development. RCU is affiliated to UGC and the current chancellor of the University is Mr. Vajubhai Vala and the vice-chancellor is Prof. M Ramachandra Gowda.
