Belagavi: : Rajya Sabha member Eranna Kadadi said the Belagavi district should be divided into three separate districts that is Gokak and Chikkodi and Belagavi for the administrative convenience of the state.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday morning, he said the state’s administrative vision is to create smaller districts. Earlier in 1990, JH Patel had declared Gokak and Chikkodi as district. But the processe to implement his orders was stopped because of border dispute. Thirty years on, the Belagavi district has changed a lot. Gokak and Chikodi should be declared as a district based on the report given by the government appointed commissions, as it is a very large administrative district. I also urge the Chief Minister of the state BS Yeddiyurappa to take up the matter’ he said.
