On Tuesday 1st of September, 2020, Mr. Shankar Gowda Patil of Belagavitook charge as the special representative of the Government of Karnataka in Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi.

After the appointment, speaking to the media, Patil said he wanted to get early clearances to some of the pending projects of the state.

He said.”Several projects including the Mahadayi drinking water scheme and Hubballi-Ankola railway line are awaiting clearance from different central government departments for a long. I will work for the early clearance of these projects.”

After assuming charge, Patil held a meeting with Karnataka Bhavan officials and discussed the state’s pending project with the Union Government. Special Resident Commissioner Vijay Ranjan Singh briefed him about the state pending projects at Central Government.

The decision by Yediyurappa Government to appoint Patil as a special representative came on Sunday (31/08/2020), and Patil’s supporters started celebrating and congratulating him on the decision made by Government.

Previously, Mr. Shankar Gowda Patil used to work as the Political Secretary to the CM of Karnataka, he also served as National Vice-President of BJP Kisan Morcha, political secretary of the Belgaum Buda Adhikr, and as well runs an NGO by name Shri Shankargowda Patil Samaj Seva Pratishtan.

For first time in the year 1992, BJP high command recognized a youth icon in Shankar Gowda Patil which leads him to become General Secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha of Karnataka. He served in this position till 1994 and worked alongside Smt. Uma Bharati, All India Youth President (1992) and Shri. J. P. Nadda, All India Youth President (1994).
