Belagavi: The state cabinet has approved the implementation of the ‘Gatti Basavanna Project, which will provide drinking water to the people and livestock of Gokak City and surrounding villages.
The Cabinet meeting today approved the implementation of the dream project of Minister for water resources, Ramesh Jarkiholi, to construct a dam across the Markandeya River and provide drinking water to the people of Gokak Taluk. Drinking water will be provided to the people around Gokak through the implementation of the ‘Gatti Basavanna’ project in the wake of the deterioration of ground water levels around Gokak Taluk.
