Belagavi: A plan has been chalked out to connect 10 Lakh families settled in 1400 villages and towns in 15 taluks of the Belagavi district as part of Sriram temple fund-raising campaign. As per the programme of ‘Sriram Janmabhoomi Teerthkshetra Trust’, Vishva Hindu Parishat has decided to give its complete cooperation and support to raise the fund for the construction of the temple by the complete Hindu community of the country. Sriram temple is not just a temple of Lord Rama but a symbol of temples of India. The campaign will be held from January 15 to February 5 across the country as per the convenience in different areas’ said VHP organising secretary Keshav Hegde.

In Belagavi on Saturday he said ‘The nationwide ‘Sriram Mandir fund-raising campaign’ will be held from January 15 to construct Sri ram temple in Ayodhya. It has aimed to reach 12 crore people in five lakh villages of the country. The main objective of the campaign is to re-establish the idealogy and life values of Lord Sriram’.

The fund will not be collected forcefully from anybody, It is their wish to contribute. But, we will connect every house to reach the information about this campaign. We have not set any target for the fundraising. The fundraising will be done by using the printed coupons having a denomination of Rs 10, Rs 100 and Rs 1000. The receipts will be given to those devotees who contribute Rs 2000 or more and that devotees will get tax concession under section 80G of Income Tax act of India’ he said.

The campaign will be held only one day on January 17 in Belagavi city. The entire city will be connected on that day he said. Manohar Mathad, Jayant Humbarwadi, Krishna Bhat, Srikant Kadam, RK Bagi, Narayan Mathadhikari, Achyut Kulkarni, Dr Basavraj Bhagoji, Somshekhar Hiremath were present.
