Belagavi: ‘I am trying sincerely to improve the Kittur Rani Channamma zoo which comes in my constituency. I was expecting the animals to arrive in the zoo earlier but it delayed due to COVID19 situation. Already Rs 2 crore fund has been reserved for this project. We need about Rs 20 crore fund for this project.
Soon, the various wild animals like Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Bear, Giraffe will be brought at this zoo. The very important necessity work for the zoo that is refilling the lake, it is under progress now. The other basic infrastructure is being provided at the zoo step by step said KPCC working president, Yamakanmardi MLA Satish Jarkiholi.
He said this on Sunday when Mrugalaya, Vanyajivi, Parisar Abhivruddhi Vedike’ submitted a memorandum to him demanding to develop the lake and natural water bodies with abundant availability of drinking water for animals at the Kittur Rani Channamma mini zoo situated in Bhutaramanahatti in Belagavi taluk. Then it should be developed in a model of Mysuru zoo said urged ‘ members of a forum.
After receiving the memorandum, MLA Satish Jarkiholi said In the present scenario, It is a want the day to create awareness among people about the conservation of wildlife, birds and forest resources. The works need to be done for a well-equipped zoo is being carried out by the forest department, all need to join their hands to this work.
It will give a good name for the Belagavi district in the country and will also boost tourism in the with an increased number of visitors. If there is a shortage of funds for this zoo, it will be arranged without delay he said.
