Belagavi: Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said a well-equipped police commissioner’s office would be built at a cost of Rs 17 crore at the city police line area attached to college road in Belagavi.
He was speaking on Tuesday after laying foundation stone to the construction of a police commissioner’s office at the college road. The demand for a police commissioner’s office was a long pending demand. He also said that the building is being constructed in two-acre land in the city. A well-equipped building with all facilities as per the requirement of Belagavi city will be completed within the stipulated time.
Rajya Sabha member Eranna Kadadi, MLA Anil Benake, former MLA Sanjay Patil and others participated in the ceremony. Minister Basavaraj Bommai later observed the building’s blueprint and directed the concerned to make some minor modifications.
Senior police officer ADGP Alok Kumar, Belagavi Northern range IGP Raghavendra Suhas, Police Commissioner K. Thyagarajan, Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbaragi were present.
